DSFL 6 Week 10 Recap
NFC West race tightens as the 2000’s Rams shut down Seattle in the 2nd half.
St. Louis hands Russell Wilson his first loss as a starter.
Here’s a recap at two of the best games from week 10 action:
The 2000’s Rams come back down 14-0 vs Seattle to take sole possession of 1st place in the NFC West.
00’s Rams 30, 10’s Seahawks 21
Los Angeles, CA - The 2000’s St. Louis Rams fell behind 14-0 against the “Legion of Boom” Seahawks. That was the moment that the Rams turned into themselves. In fact, this game was a microcosm of their season, so far. The first quarter of this game and of the entire season has been a nightmare for the Rams. The team started this season 0-3 and has now won 6 games in a row.
This game featured a slow start for the Rams, followed by a fantastic 2nd quarter. Russell Wilson commits 3 turnovers in the 2nd quarter and St. Louis capitalizes on every one. After the spectacular comeback, St. Louis kicker, Jeff Wilkins, nails 3 field goals to stave off the 2010’s Seahawks.
In the DSFL 6, the Rams hope that they can stave off the rest of the division over the final 7 games of the season. If this game is any indication, they are capable of erasing any deficit.
Ken Stabler (#12) leads the DSFL 6 in QB Rating this season, just as he did in the DSFL 2.
70’s Raiders 24, 90’s Broncos 17
Las Vegas, NV - Against Denver, Ken Stabler outshined John Elway in a thrilling AFC West battle. The Raider quarterback throws for 332 yards and 2 touchdowns in the week 10 win. Elway tossed a late touchdown to Shannon Sharpe, but the defense couldn’t give him the ball back late in the game. That has been the problem for defenses in so many games. If Stabler is playing well, Oakland wins the game. That was the case in week 10.
In the bigger picture, Oakland has tiebreakers over the remaining three AFC West teams and is now on top at 5-4 overall. If the Raiders win their remaining division games, this team is a shoe-in for the playoffs.
Other Wk 10 Notables:
The 1980’s 49ers (6-4) stick around the top of the NFC West as they knock out the 2010’s Saints in New Orleans.
The 1960’s Packers (5-4) have won 4 of their last 5 games, including a 24-6 victory at rainy Jacksonville in week 10.
