DSFL 7: Week 9 Recap
Second half of Greatest Teams season begins with a frantic week
In the DSFL 7, every division winner is ensured at least one home playoff game.
Three teams (1989 49ers, 1998 Broncos, and 2007 Patriots) stole 1st place in their divisions this week.
Let’s check out the three best games from week 9.
Game 1: Patriots 20, Dolphins 17
2007 Patriots claim 1st place in tough AFC East
Foxboro, MA - This was a game the 2007 Patriots (6-2) had to have. New England would have
fallen back 2.5 games of the AFC East lead with 8 games to go. It wasn’t easy, but the Patriots
avoided that scenario with a massive home win today. New England held the explosive Dolphins
to just 208 yards for the game and picked off Bob Griese a season-high 4 times.

Tom Brady orchestrates another game-winning drive
Game 2: Buccaneers 27, Packers 24
Tampa, FL - Tom Brady gave the Packers their first loss in a month, but it wasn’t without plenty of
help. Antonio Brown became the first player this season to return a punt for a touchdown. Ryan
Succop was yet again perfect on field goals and the defense played well for most of the game
But after Green Bay tied it late, Tom Brady did his thing, driving the Bucs 52 yards in 6 plays.
Game 3: Panthers 14, Saints 10
Who is Ben Jacobs??
New Orleans, LA - Luke Kuechly was controlling everything on defense with ten tackles and a few
QB hits. But with 2:23 to go in a 4 point game, Luke Kuechly needed a breather. Ben Jacobs, a
former undrafted free agent and long-time backup, gave him that breather and picked off Drew
Brees on his only snap of the game. Carolina then ran out the clock to beat the Saints, 14-10.
