Phil Villapiano saves the season

Denver, CO - This season has not gone according to plan for head coach John Madden. But the
season isn’t lost after a massive overtime win at the Broncos. Had they lost the game, Oakland
would have needed a miracle to make the playoffs. Instead, Phil Villapiano picks off John Elway
in overtime and brings it back for the winning touchdown. Oakland is tied atop the AFC West.

Washington sends the Giants packing on Monday Night

Washington, D.C. - The loser of this Monday Night battle would be eliminated from the playoffs.
The 1986 Giants appeared to have saved their season with a strong start from Phil Simms. But
in the 4th quarter, Simms and the offense fell apart with three consecutive turnovers. The 1991
Redskins created those turnovers with a devastating pass rush led by Charles Mann.
