DSFL 7: Week 14 Recap

Thursday Night slugfest at the Dawg Pound

The 1978 Steelers become the first team to clinch a playoff spot in the DSFL 7.

Pittsburgh has dominated their division, but needed a 4th quarter comeback in their last game @ Cleveland.

Let’s check out the three best games from week 14.

History repeats itself in Cleveland

Cleveland, OH - In 1978, the Steelers played in overtime once: week 4 against Cleveland. That
game ended with the winning touchdown pass from Terry Bradshaw to Bennie Cunningham.
Both players had their deja-vu moment in Cleveland when they combined for the winning score
to defeat the Browns again. Due to Cincinnati’s loss, Pittsburgh clinched the AFC North title.

1998 Vikings overwhelm Cincinnati’s defense

Minneapolis, MN - The Vikings were best known for their air raid offense in 1998. But their week 14
win against Cincinnati must be a scary sign for the rest of this league. Minnesota racked up a
season-high 176 yards rushing against Tim Krumrie and a good Cincinnati defense. If the Vikings
can run the ball like this, they will be a very tough team to beat.

John Elway’s interceptions hurt the Broncos again

Indianapolis, IN - The 1998 Broncos have been the kings of the comeback in the Greatest Teams
Season. It looked like Denver would complete its greatest comeback of the year at Indianapolis
before the Elway interception would strike again. Denver nearly erased a 21-3 deficit before
Elway sealed the loss with his 2nd interception, returned by Gary Brackett for a touchdown.
