DSFL 7: Week 17 Recap
The road to the Dream Bowl goes through San Francisco
On Sunday at St. Louis, the 1989 49ers proved that they really are the best team in football.
In other news, seven teams were eliminated from the playoffs in a gut-wrenching regular season finale.
Let’s check out the three best games from week 17.
Game 1: 49ers 35, Rams 28
Potential NFC Championship Game Preview
St. Louis, MO - This was an enormous football game for both teams. Winner earns a 1st round bye
while the loser visits Dallas in the wildcard round. The 1999 Rams came out swinging with 14
unanswered points in the game first 3.5 minutes but San Francisco weathered that storm then
landed the knockout punch in the second half, capped by Eric Wright’s (#21) sealing interception.

Game 2: Bills 28, Colts 23
Orchard Park, NY - In a week filled with elimination games, the 1990 Bills were one of the few
teams who clinched the postseason with their week 17 win. It took Andre Reed’s (#83) best
game of the season and some late game magic from Jim Kelly for the Bills to upend the
pesky Colts. The red-hot 1990 Bills (10-6) begin their postseason run at the 1978 Steelers.
Game 3: Ravens 28, Raiders 23
Raiders’ season ends with 2nd half meltdown
Oakland, CA - Despite the Bills’ win, Oakland would have taken their playoff spot with a win at
home against the lowly Ravens. To make matters worse, the 1976 Raiders appeared in full control
up by ten in the 2nd quarter. But three interceptions from the usually reliable Ken Stabler cost
them dearly. Led by backup Troy Banks, the 2000 Ravens upend Oakland in a major upset.
