The week 7 battle of New England at San Francisco gives fans an early taste into what many DSFL 6 playoff games should look like, Hall of Fame quarterbacks surrounded by some of the greatest football talent ever seen in NFL history.
Green Bay Packers Schedule
Aaron Rodgers, as seen on the right, led the DSFL 5 in passing and guided Green Bay to the NFC’s 3rd seed at 7-3 overall. However, this year’s Packers will not include Aaron Rodgers or any of his favorite targets from last season. The 1960’s Packers were led by quarterback Bart Starr and head coach Vince Lombardi, and that group will represent title town for the DSFL 6. Both Starr and Lombardi must be encouraged by their light travel schedule this year. The Packers play 13 of 16 games in their own time zone. Their only long distance challenges are visits to Tampa Bay, San Francisco, and Indianapolis.
Will Oakland return to the playoffs?
For whatever reason, the Raiders haven’t been anywhere near the Dream Bowl shoe-in that we saw after years one and two of this series. Oakland missed the playoffs in seasons three and four then coughed up a late lead in the snow at Arrowhead Stadium in the DSFL 5 divisional playoffs. If the Raiders want a ticket to Tampa for the Dream Bowl six, this team may have to beat the team that won the Dream Bowl five. Reigning DSFL 5 champion Carolina will play host to the Raiders in the season opener.
We have seen a Dream Bowl loser come back and win a championship. The Chicago Bears lost the first Dream Bowl game but won in years two and four. If Kansas City, who lost the Dream Bowl 5 in overtime, is interested in following that trend, then a strong start may be paramount. The Chiefs visit San Diego in week 2 and fly across the country to Baltimore for week 3.
